Artist Managers Should Download This Now!
The most powerful AI tool for business owners and artist managers
For the past three months, I’ve been building agents on OpenClaw.
They’ve saved 80 hours a week across my management firm, Be Like Children alone.
Brand negotiations. Contracts. Project Management. Finance. Accounting. Pipeline reviews. Deliverable chasing. Reconciliation.
All of it, executing without me (or anyone).
That’s the work of roughly two full staff, gone from my payroll before I ever hired them.
I don’t even use performance marketers to run my Google or Meta ads anymore. My AI agent does it.
And the results are exactly the same as when I was paying an agency a retainer.
OpenClaw isn’t hard. But it is fiddly.
You build it in a terminal. You write the logic. Set up workflows. You get it wrong, then you get it right, then you get it wrong again when the API changes.
Most managers I know would quit by hour three.
Today, that barrier disappeared.
Perplexity released the Personal Computer for Mac.
It’s like OpenClaw, but you don’t have to programme anything.
You just download an app.
And every artist manager (or business owner) reading this should have one running ASAP.
What Perplexity Personal Computer actually is
You install it on a dedicated Mac (a Mac mini is what Perplexity recommends, since it needs to run 24/7), and from that moment it can see your local files, your native apps, your browser, and your cloud connectors.
You tell it what to do. It does it.
Anything you can do with a keyboard and mouse, Perplexity Computer can do.
That means it has same capabilities as a human being sitting at a desk 24/7.
This is how you should think about it.
Whatever you would ask a junior staff member sitting at an office desk to do, you can now ask a Perplexity computer.
But this junior staff member has a PhD in everything.
What I built
While I was going deep on OpenClaw, I also built something of my own.
It’s called artist.build.
20 years in artist management, I’ve tried every tool that exists. Salesforce. HubSpot. Pipedrive. Monday. Notion. Todoist.
None of them understand how management actually works.
So I built what we needed.
artist.build is a purpose-built management platform that handles contract review (AI reads the Word doc, flags every problem clause, generates tracked changes on the actual word doc like a lawyer would - under your direction), pipeline, commission calculations across split rates and tiered structures and multiple currencies, Xero sync, deliverables tracking, team management, etc.
Across my own firm, artist.build has alleviated roughly 90% of the administrative load of running the company.
I’m opening up to a handful of beta testers soon.
If you manage creators and want early access, join the waitlist at artist.build.
So
Managers have spent a decade asking how to scale a business that’s structurally designed not to scale.
The answer was never more staff. Staff dilute margin and create their own management overhead.
The answer was always going to be a layer of software and intelligence that could do the repetitive thinking for you.
That layer is now installable on a Mac mini for the cost of a lunch per day.
